The tin roof is definitely rusted.

B-52s Burlesque is tomorrow night! And it's been officially endorsed by Cindy Wilson herself, via Facebook. God, I love the internet. A B-52 says you should come to our B-52 show! Rock.

The dismantling of New York continues.

The Village Voice has an excellent obituary for the closing of a vital neighborhood resource, the historic St. Vincent's Hospital.

Damn fine cup of coffee.

I'm currently in a timewarp, also known as Seattle for our 90s burlesque tribute show weekend. Today, I drank coffee and ate cherry pie in the diner where they filmed Twin Peaks, in the impossibly picturesque small town of North Bend, Washington. Between that and our trip to Kurt's house, and the apartment building from Singles, and our shows themselves...I almost can't handle it!

We're gonna get all Twin Peaks up in the Northwest.

16 years ago today, Kurt Cobain killed himself. Yes, that makes me feel a little old. Also, the 90s were a long time ago. Never has the nostalgia in our 90s burlesque tribute, Smells Like Tease Spirit, seemed less premature then in this, our fourth year in a row. Pictured here: our partner in crime, Seattle's fabulous Heidi Von Haught, the reason this show is coming to Seattle this weekend, in front of Kurt's house. Don't miss this show, Seattle, get your tickets now!

It's...mesmerizing.

Jen posted this on Facebook, a little warmup for the return of Smells Like Tease Spirit next weekend in Seattle. Originally posted courtesy of the always amazing Everything is Terrible.

You know, when I ran the magazine section of a Midwestern Borders Bookstore in the late 90s, we stocked not one but TWO beanie baby collecting magazines. Madness.
